Mrs. Virginia Brooks Sheats, daughter of the late Ralph C. and Pecolia Williams Brooks, was born January 1, 1952. Her birth prompted her daddy to exclaim, “Look what Santa Claus brought me!”
Virginia is a product of the Walton County School System. She is a graduate of Monroe Area High School, and was a part of local history as she was among the first Blacks who dealt with the difficult task of integrating a once segrated school system.
Virginia leaves to celebrate and cherish her life: Children-Reverend Jarvis L. (Angenette) Brooks, Crystal N. Sheats, and Victor R. Sheats; Grand-Children: Jaelyn Brooks, Kavien Sheats, JaQuarres Sheats, Inaya Peek; Siblings-Jo Evenlyn Patterson, Josephine (James) Wood, Marva Culbreath, Eleanor Brooks, Jeffery (Sandra) Brooks and Teddy K. Brooks. A Special Aunt-Ms. Lizzie Ree Brooks Johnson.
She also leaves to cherish: Sisters-in-law – Annie (Rogers) Brooks, Marilyn Sheats, Velma Sheats, and Lisa Battle. Brothers-in-law- James Sheats, Claude Sheats, and Danny Battle, along with a multitude of nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of relatives and friends.
