Ms. Sallie Maude Harris Sheats was born in Walton County, Georgia on July 9, 1944 to the late Minnie Sturdivant and Whitt Harris. She is preceded in death by daughter, Grace Harris; brothers, Ruben George, John E. George, Bennett Chester, and Terry George Chester; Sisters, Annie B. George Malcom and Minnie R. Harris Sheats. Sallie attended the Walton County Schools. She was inspired as a youth to become “ Christ” conscious, and joined as a member of Flat Rock Baptist Church-Bostwick, Georgia at an early age. Sallie was a hard worker and held several occupations, which included the textile and poultry industries. As her health began to decline, she would eventually retire, only to start a new job as the local babysitter for both family and friends alike. Sallie enjoyed dancing, family and friends gatherings, and cooking. She wouldn’t allow anyone to go hungry. In fact, many children as well as adults in her neighborhood would make frequent visits to Sallie’s house in anticipation of home cooked meals. On October, 21, 2022 God summoned one of his children home, to be at rest. Sallie leaves to cherish those precious memories; Bobby George, Wille George, James Chester, Wayne (Cheryl) Chester, Bernice Chester, Ossie Linda Patterson, and a host of family and friends.
