Mrs. Dorothy Mae Ansley-Crawford (May 4, 1955 – February 12, 2026)

Dorothy Mae Ansley Crawford was born on May 4, 1955, in Walton County, to the late James Ansley Jr. and Maggie Nell Kelly. She was preceded in death by her husband, Heyward Crawford; and brothers, Billy Kelly, Benny Kelly, and James Lewis Ansley.

Dorothy received her education through the Walton County Public School System. She was a hardworking and devoted woman who remained committed to her work until her health began to decline.

On May 4, 1980 she married the love of her life, Heyward Crawford. Together, they built a life filled with love, compassion, and devotion. They lovingly raised their niece, Brittney Ansley, as their own, surrounding her with unwavering support and care.

Dorothy found great joy in cooking, playing cards, babysitting, dancing, and most of all spending time with her family. She was a second mother to her nieces and nephews, offering spiritual guidance, encouragement, and unconditional love.

At an early age, Dorothy joined First African Baptist Church, where she faithfully served on the Usher Board and was a proud founding member of the Youth for Christ Choir. Her dedication to her church and her faith was evident throughout her life.

On February 12, 2026 Dorothy transitioned peacefully. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: sisters, Wanda Ansley and Sheila Ansley; brothers, Charles (Lisa) Ansley and Randy (Nikki) Ansley; her beloved niece, Brittney Ansley; mother in law, Mattie Crawford-Jones; special friends, Annette, Linda, Lucille, and Mama Cat; and a host of family and friends.
